Cocktails for New Year Eve ( I )

The New Year's Eve dinner is presented as a more sophisticated worldly event that Christmas dinners a week earlier . The table is filled with more delicious products and recipes are lighter hued flavors above quantities .
Here I present some popular cocktails.

Mojito




Ingredients (4 people)

Fresh mint leaves (about 10 per cup )
3/4 cup (150 ml) white rum
2 cups (400 ml) of soda
8 tablespoons of white sugar
2 limes
Ice cubes

First we must use resistant glasses. This is because we need to mash the mint and lime into the glass , so a glass of fine crystal does would crash . Each glass  must have 10 mint leaves and a slice of lime (a quarter or so ) . With a pestle of a small mortar crush the mint and lime to release the juice. Plus two slices of lime, two tablespoons of sugar and again we crush the new added. We filled the glass with cubes at the top, two large tablespoons of white rum and pour the rest till the top with soda. Stir and garnish with the four other lime slices. Sugar and rum can vary proportion according the "needs" of each drinker.


gin tonic



Ingredients ( 4):

16 ice cubes
A tall glass (200 ml ) gin
2 ½ cups ( 500 ml ) of tonic
4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 lime

We put a few ice cubes in a tall, narrow glass. Pour the gin, tonic and lemon juice . Mix well with a long spoon and garnish with a slice (a quarter ) of the lime.

Pinha Colada




Ingredients ( 4):

A glass (200 ml) of pineapple juice
A glass of coconut milk
Half a glass of rum
4 tablespoons white sugar
8 cubes of ice

In a blender that can crush ice (or a blender ) combine all ingredients and beat until it is smooth. Serve immediately .

Caipirinha




Ingredients (4 people)

The Brazilian national drink is  made ​​with cachaça ( said caciassa ) , an alcohol obtained from sugar cane BUT IS NOT RUM. Cachaça is irreplaceable , so don't use rum instead.

Ingredients ( 4):

½ cup (300 ml ) of cachaça
2 limes
4 teaspoons white sugar
Ice cubes

In a sturdy glass incorporate half a lime and one teaspoon of sugar. With a pestle crush the fruit and sugar and then pour a little less than half a glass of cachaça and ice cubes to almost overflowing. Stir well and serve.
