To make Christmas cookies is a deeply rooted tradition in many countries. They usually give way to Christmas themes - xmas trees, snow men - and to decorate them with sugar noodles  or beads . These cookies are usually very easy to do and it's fun to prepare with the help - or non-help , depending how you look it - of children. So you can book this recipe up whenever your kids will start Christmas holidays.

INGREDIENTS:

 2 cups of bread flour
One cup unsalted butter
Half cup of sugar
Pinch of salt
Kiwi jam , plum or apple (whatever green)
Pearls to decorate

We put butter at the microwave a few seconds to leave as ointment. Mix well with sugar until the resulting dough is smooth and fluffy.Well then add the sifted flour -  I use to pass it through a fine sieve - and a pinch of salt. Knead well .We extend the dough on a clean, flat surface until it is 1/3 inch of height (8mm). If you have a mold shaped like Christmas tree cut the cookies with it (or use star, snowman...whatever you have) . Then place cookies on the tray to go in the oven. With a spatula put the jam on each cookie. Better use any green jam...cause trees are green. We put sugar pearls over the jam to resemble ornament balls .Preheat oven to 190 degrees C / 375 F and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden .If you want do not put jam or sugar pearls ornament, cause for example you do not have tree's mold, just make plain cookies that are also very tasty.
