Peaches in Porto Wine Sauce

 

Another dessert that is made in minutes and that is very inexpensive. It can be made with fresh or canned peaches - as long as they are kept in their own juice - and with Port or Sherry wine.

INGREDIENTS (4 people):

  • 1 peach per person (2 halves if you have "canned" peaches)
  • 2 cups of Porto wine
  • 100 grams (half a cup) of sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 or 2 sticks of cinnamon

In a saucepan, pour the wine and add a few drops of lemon juice and the cinnamon stick. We heat up - without boiling - and then we add the sugar. We stir so that it dissolves well and when it thickens, taking the consistency of a syrup, we introduce the halved peaches and leave a couple of minutes.

They are served warm.
