The way of making this lemonada is somewhat strange since the entire lime is used, including the skin. In any case it is worth doing it since the result is very impressive. Be aware this drink is made with limes, not with lemons.
INGREDIENTS (4/6 people) :
- 1.2 liters of cold water (6 glasses approximately)
- 4 limes (lemons cannot be used)
- 200 grams of sugar (1 cup)
- 6 tablespoons of condensed milk
First we are going to mix the water with the sugar, stirring until it dissolves completely.
We remove the upper and lower ends of the files. This step is important since the bitterness of the fruit is concentrated in them.
We cut the limes (with the skin) and mix them with the sugar water. We take the mixture to the blender and, be careful, we beat them for a maximum of 20 seconds (or we give five strokes of the blender). This is very important since if we overdo it, the result will be bitter.
We pass the result through a strainer to separate the remaining pulp from the liquid. We mix with the condensed milk and it can be served directly.
If we want it cold and frothy, especially for the summer months, we return the liquid with the condensed milk to the blender adding half a dozen ice cubes. We whisk briefly and ready to serve.
If the result is somewhat bitter, I recommend adding a little more condensed milk. It is a drink that you will make often as it becomes addictive.
