Nothing easier that cook waffles. The dough is made in a few minutes and baked in almost less. They are done in 25 minutes timed, so there is no excuse for not doing them. Then they can be decorated with cream, or jam or berries or fruit ....
Waffles are of Belgian origin. To make them it is necessary to have special silicone or aluminum molds or a waffle maker, a machine that like the sandwich maker gives the dough the required shape and the necessary cooking point. Although I am addicted to waffles in my kitchen there is no room for another machine, so I use the oven taking advantage of the fact that I have baked some other recipe before and so I save a lot of money on electricity not needing to preheat.
INGREDIENTS (for 8 waffles)
- 700 grams (1.5 pounds) of all purposes flour
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 200 grams (7 ounces) of unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar or vanilla essence (optional if you are going to use them with cream, chocolate, cream, jam, honey etc. that already incorporate their own flavor)
- 1 teaspoon of powdered yeast
- A pinch of salt
In a bowl pour all the ingredients EXCEPT the butter and then mix . Beat well so that there are no lumps.
Once we have a homogeneous lump-free dough, add the melted butter and beat again to mix well.
We preheat the oven to 220 degrees celsius (428 F). We pour the dough, which will obviously be liquid, in the waffle molds. We put in the oven exactly 8 minutes, heat up and down, medium position.
Remove from the oven, unmold (the dough will be firm) and now bake 5 minutes with the rack up to take color.
Now we have waffles ready to decorate them as we want and devour them in seconds.
